The Academy (6th-9th Grade)

 In addition to our Enrichment+ program, we are now offer college preparatory courses especially designed for our middle school & high school students. In addition to earning high school credits for these courses, high school students can get guidance on how to earn college credits through the dual-credit program and AP testing*. Learn more.  More than just academics, our unique, Christ-centered courses are designed to help students discover their gifts, develop a vision for their life and train them how to defend their faith. 

Additionally, we have trained college advisers and tutors on staff who are here to meet all of your student's individual needs, such as test prep, college and scholarship application help, career counseling, degree selection and more, as they prepare for their future. Here at The Well Academy, we don't just teach classes, we Engage, Equip & Inspire the Leaders of tomorrow! 

In addition to these classes, our Academy students are invited to join in our Enrichment+ program for just $50 with enrollment in two academy classes! Just click "fill my gaps with Enrichment+" or your enrollment form.  

Currently our Academy classes are available for 6th-9th grade students. However, we would like to expand into high school. If you have a high-school student that would be interested in any of the following classes. Please click here.


Available Course are as follows: 

Each course is 1 hours long and is $45 per class per month. See Schedule

(Please note that three classes listed below are part of our Enrichment+ program, however are also offered individually at the Academy rate if enrollment in Enrichment+ is not desired. These classes are noted in the description.)


Courses in Science

Science & Lab- Using Apologia Science as our base, we offer Biology, Physics, Chemistry and General Science, alternating each year.  2018-2019 will be Physical Science. (HS credit Science)

 

Courses in Language Arts & Social Studies 

Insights -  A cross-curricular course diving into history, religion, government and philosophy by way of literature analysis, essay writing, and debate. Will use EIW curriculum.   (May be taken with Creative Writing for HS LA credit)


Creative Writing*- Learn to write like the pros! This course gives students the background knowledge they need in order to create great literary works of Art. Covers story writing and poetry.

Courses in Math, Economics & Business


Money in the real world  - This course will give your student the tools they need for successful management of their finances. In addition to money management from a biblical approach, this course will delve into topics such as business start-up and choosing a career path.  (HS elective credit or can count towards a math credit)

*Please note this is a supplement to regular math program 


Courses in Technology 

Coding Adventures*- Looking for an exciting career in the computer industry? This course is for you! Taught by Bit's Byte's and Bot's, learn the in's and out's of coding by building a 3D video game or programming a robot! (1/2 HS elective credit)

Electives

Spanish* - Learn to read and write in Spanish! This class takes students with a base knowledge of Spanish to actually speaking, reading and writing the language through an emergent approach. (HS language credit possible w/home study)

Art & Architecture- Learn how to be a great artist by learning from great Artist. This course, for both novice and beginner artist, will work with any artist where they are at and show them how to unleash their greatest potential. Additionally, this course covers lessons in historical architecture and basic instruction in drawing to build! (1/2 HS elective credit)


Lead like Jesus- Adapted from the book by Ken Blanchard, this course is designed to teach students important leadership skills while focusing on crucial elements of character development.

 *Please note that for successful completion of these courses, curriculum purchase and weekly assignments are required. Parents are fully responsible for student's education as well as creating and keeping transcript. Our academy classes are a powerful assisting tool for the primary educator but are not without parent involvement. Approximately 1-3 hours of homework required per Academy course
